Cookbook 'Lick Your Plate' & Cacao Cashew Bliss Balls

It has been a seriously long time, sorry you had to wait so long, but I can now say that my first ever cookbook is about to be printed! You will be able to buy it in time for this Christmas 2019—on my website! It’s going to be so good!

Why get a real-food cookbook? Learning to cook is a fundamental skill for yourself, your loved ones, the animals and the planet. You might have to overcome some habitual patterns and behaviour, but this is just what we all have to do, if we want to make the world a better place to live in! We have no time to lose in fact. 

Printed with the most eco-friendly printing company I could find www.gugler.at and I’m so glad I did find them. With not just climate neutral but CLIMATE POSITIVE PRINTING! Vegan, palm oil free ink. They are Cradle to Cradle certified which means that their products are 100% compostable, not one little bit is poisonous.

So, this is a book of delicious animal-friendly recipes that are absolutely full of yumminess and good juju. I created it because back in the days I didn’t know how to cook real foods for myself and if I could have had a book like this to help me integrate whole foods into my life, things would have been much easier.

This book has real-life recipes in it: finger-licking, sexy, fun, vegan recipes that will fuel your every day, as well as special occasions when you want to whip up something tantalisingly gourmet—wearing an apron.

Chocolate Cashew Bliss Balls 


No, this is not just another bliss ball recipe! I promise this combo is worth making even if you’ve already made all the other bliss ball recipes in this book. The creaminess of the cashews combined with the sweet dates and sexy cacao is just to die for. Sooo easy, so yummy and healthy too! I created this super simple recipe when I was cooking for 100 people at a school summer camp in the Czech Republic. I could hardly believe that every single child and teacher thoroughly enjoyed this chocolate ball, even though it’s so very very healthy. A real crowd pleaser even amongst mainstream eaters—that my friend, is worth gold! To make these a more grown-up affair, you could add a dash of whiskey. Just saying.

Gala's Chocolate Cashew Bliss Balls

Makes about 16, naturally depending on the size of your balls


1 cup raw organic cashews

1/3 cup desiccated coconut

1/3 cup cacao powder

1 pinch salt

Lots of vanilla

1/2 cup or about 8 Medjool dates

1 tbsp coconut oil 

1 tbsp water

1 tbsp maple syrup

Cacao or coconut, for rolling

ACTION!

Mix the dry ingredients in a food processor, then add the dates WITHOUT pips (of course), and the rest of the ingredients.

Process everything nicely.

With wet hands form little bliss balls and optionally roll in cacao or finely ground coconut snow.

Cool in the fridge and enjoy 

mmmmmhhh!

Tip: If you want to try something new add a few drops of orange essential oil and/or orange rind. A few goji berries or cranberries. This is a recipe that can handle sneaking in superfoods such as 1 tbsp protein powder or maca.
