My name is Maria-Carin Gala and I am the head honcho at Gala's Organic Kitchen. Where all the food is always vegan and gluten-free, refined sugar free, naturally dairy-free and most importantly: delicious and nutritious. I live for vegan food and inspiring you to cook for yourself! I’ve dedicated my life to it in fact, but I am open to eating adventurously and am not a purist. It doesn’t matter to me whether you’re vegan, vegetarian, omnivore, carnivore or pescatarian, or if you’ve never cooked a meal for yourself before: you’re welcome here!

I’m a passionate foodie with a weakness for cake and anything bread-like, animals and our planet. Since I moved to Australia in 2002 I have been on a healing journey of wonderful wholefoods, yogic movement and meditation, plentiful dance and everything in between. Picking myself up again and again, I know how difficult it is for all of us to change our habits. Using food as medicine is one of my greatest passions, but it’s got to taste good. Real good!
In December 2015 I unexpectedly departed Australia for Germany as my mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer, which did in fact result in her death only 10 months later, well, as things turn out differently in life, I am now living in the UK.
The food I create is delicious and nutritious. Vegan, gluten-free and refined sugar-free. I don't claim that a vegan diet is the one-and-only diet for everyone, because in my opinion there isn't just one diet for all. Every body is unique. I grew up 100% vegetarian, but have been trying all kinds of foods lately. Having said that I believe adding more vegan and gluten-free dishes into anyones life is always beneficial, especially for your tastebuds, your beautiful unique body, the animals, and even the planet! I had suffered from pesky food addictions and overeating. Downing buckets of ice cream and entire bars of chocolate along with Coca Cola, despite being vegetarian was not exactly healthy! Back then it would have been mighty helpful having really yummy and inspiring, manageable recipes like these to support me. Dishes that make my hips jiggle and put a smile on my face. Recipes that teach me the know-how of how to be creative in the kitchen with what’s at hand. I know taking one step at a time towards one’s goals actually works. Step by step, or bite by bite.
I wish that you may have fun manoeuvring your way through your food desires, fall-backs and successes and it’s fabulous to know that even if a dish didn’t turn into a gourmet explosion, at least no animals were directly harmed in the making of it, and it will nourish you. Don’t fret, when you make my recipes, you will be making wholesome and delicious food that will want to make you lick your plate!
